The saying above exemplify a person who fails to take corrections from his past mistakes for only a fool can pull off a mistake and still repeated same mistake without taking cautions or lessons from the first, i think Nigerians are on the verge or are becoming fools by the day for not learning from their past errors.
If you are an adult and think this current regime has done something to write home about, then you are a fool. If you think or believes it has done reasonably better, you are also a fool and if you think they deserved a second chance, then you are the most foolest.
Let me take you back from the start, in 2010 when Goodluck Ebele Jonathan became the President and Commander in Chief of the Nigeria Armed Forces following the oblivion of Late Umar Musa Yer'adua, many Nigerians (I inclusive) have confidence and hopes in the incoming government of President Jonathan viewing from his body language while acting on behalf of the late President Yer'adua.
Going by the day and looking at Jonathan's vogue of governance, many lost intrepidity in him if not few stubborn ones like me giving him some benefit of doubts, more and more Nigerians were becoming bored by his hegemony and at the end, the very few of us giving him benefit of doubt were left seethed with rage, our expectations and hopes were crippled in a short length of days.
As days gone by, things began moving from bad to worst with Jonathan failing to deliver on almost all what was expected of him and failing to sustained what he met working on ground, things began deteriorating by the day and most of my fears were confirmed by the Jonathan i supported. Insecurity, corruption, poverty, poor healthcare delivery, lack of good educational system, dereliction to duty and gross irresponsibility were the first to signaled the influx of an Otuekean leadership, a government where crime and criminals are celebrated, a regime where embezzlement of public funds typify "a mere stealing" not corruption. The rascalities continued unabated.
In the 2011 general elections, those of us (I exclusive) that were not touched by the insensitivity of Jonathan's stewardship resolved to give him another chance to showcase his immorality and what happened? They rigged the remaining votes and clinched victory, and what today presents is the results of what yesterday chaperoned, we predicted it and our predictions became real as according to a Hausa saying "a beautiful Friday can be spotted right from the Wednesday before it."
What is today presenting? From looting with impunity in the capital city to election rigging in the states, from Boko Haram in the Northeast to Tribal killings in the middle, from slaughtering innocent citizens by unknown gunmen in the Northwest to religious violence in the North central, from sea piracy in Niger Delta to baby factories and kidnapping in the Southeast, from spiritual killings and armed robbery in the Southwest to militancy in the South South, the government of today ad hoc nothing but unmitigated disasters.
Nowhere is safe, no place is exempted, no one is sure where to look for safety, nobody knows where next Boko Haram will strike and all we can do is to fold our arms and wait for the next bomb to struck because government has awfully failed to protect us despite all the huge funds expended for that purpose, not minding the fact that security is the first objective of any well-meaning leadership toward it people but yet, we are being told the present leadership is the best Nigeria has ever witnessed.
The present leadership of President Goodluck Jonathan has failed in all aspect of human endeavors, Nigeria under his watch has moved from being among the top exporters of Crude to among the top importers of petroleum and has failed to give it citizens the services that can improve their livelihood and protect their properties. Mr President and his cohorts have successfully hijacked the nation's wealth and transformed it into their personal belongings and government investments are been turned into their family businesses.
The youths are unemployed, the old deprived off their pension, relatives of the dead are denied their benefits, the innocents are wasting in jail without trial, the sick are faced with doctor's strike, students are wasting at home with ASUP and COEASU on strike, the weak are abandoned without motivation and the needy left without help, we never had it so bad.
Electricity is coeval in many parts of the country but only in structures. power which brings about development and services for the livelihood of any nation is becoming extinct in Nigeria, our failed government officials are looting huge sum of money all in the name of providing power.
Education is giving less or no priority by the current leadership as public schools are left vacant for only the poor man's child while those in government have their children schooling in the most expensive schools overseas, primary schools have been on strike for the past ten months in Benue state and you called this transformation?
Let's not talk about healthcare, President Jonathan must be applauded for his gigantic effort of preserving the status of our ancients medical structures and equipments build during the first republic, the health of a common Nigerian who could not afford medical treatment abroad or in private hospitals is at his own risk.
Under Jonathan's rule, lack of good leadership has been one of the major problem of food production and on the other hand, one of the Simplest and a doubtless truth that you can easily know about Nigeria is the fact that over 75% of her rural dwellers are full-time Farmers.
A very Great Variety of Delicious Species of Organic Foods, Fruits, Vegetables and Cash-crops abound in the Country. In fact, the Nation is so highly Blessed, and there are very large Acres of fertile agricultural lands all around the Country. Mismanagements, Corruption and Embezzlements of public funds which are very common within the present day leadership of Goodluck Jonathan and are the main issues affecting our food production.
But as 2015 is gathering momentum, we are now distinguishing Jonathan's invisible achievements here and there, the "rebased economy" making Nigeria the number one biggest economy in Africa is one of them and many others. Let's not be fooled by the deception strategy of the Jonathan's administration where invisible progress overshadowed the visible ones.
I will not blame the fools for supporting the misdemeanors of Jonathan's regime, i will rather blame the failed system they accidentally found themselves enclaved in which fizzled to indulge them with a sound and qualitative education to endow them extricate between right and wrong.
And as you may all know, Patriotism; Trust, Honesty; Organization and careful management has often Led to the Success and Prosperity of modern man but here in Nigeria, all you can easily see or notice is the Plain Fact that the Nation has “ No Leaders " but yet, we are being told to give Jonathan and his co-travelers a second chance. A second what? "It is only the fool's sheep that break loose twice."
