Enemies Within The Presidency: The Story Of Jonathan Hatters, By Usama Dandare

As we all know, nothing, i mean no action or inaction can happen without cause; nothing happens that cannot happen, and when what was capable of happening has happened, it cannot be interpreted as a miracle, for there must to be a catalyst energizing the occurrence and re-occurrence of such activity or inactivity that happened. And on this basis i dare to opine that:

The historic failure of President Jonathan to win re-election is undoubtedly attributed to the hate campaign initiated by his Campaign Council, headed by the presidential campaign spokesman Femi Fani-Kayode, Ekiti State Governor Ayo Fayose, Presidential Media Aide Dr. Doyin Okupe and First Lady Patience Jonathan. Albeit, corruption, incompetence, abuse of office and insensitivity that characterized the Jonathan's administration were no doubt some of the genesis leading to his defeat in the March 28 presidential elections, but the primary reason why Jonathan failed to secure another term was the campaign of calumny and hatred embarked upon by his campaign team. The President-elect, Muhammadu Buhari, All Progressives Congress's National Leader Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and other opposition party members were the main targets of the assault and hate documentaries most of which were aired by the African Independent Television (AIT) and the Nigeria Television Authority (NTA) under the supervision of the presidency.

Astonishingly, these hate-mongers played a very vital role in humiliating the President and did lots of harmful damages to his re-election bid. In fact, they helped in simplifying the work of the opposition by portraying Jonathan as irresponsible and unfocused, while the stage managed exhibition of rascalities by first-lady Patience Jonathan during the electioneering season buttressed the accession that President Jonathan isn't only incapable of controlling the affairs of Nigeria but also that of his home. If in doubt, come with me as i chronicle the individual contribution of President Jonathan's trustees in the historic and all-time embarrassment of March 28:

DAME PATIENCE JONATHAN:

Like it or not, the name "Dame Patience Jonathan" and the huge negative role she played during the presidential campaign cannot be overemphasized whenever the story of Goodluck Jonathan’s defeat is mention, she devoted her time, energy, resources and worked extra-hard to ensure that her husband (President Jonathan) lost the March 28 presidential elections. ‘Mama Peace’ - as she pleaded to be called - went misbehaving during campaign rallies, displaying openly her hatred toward northerners and their religion by raining all sorts of abuses on them, their values, tradition and culture while forgotten that the North presided over the highest chunk of eligible voters and produced higher number of votes than the South-South and South-East all combined, which in turns backfired on the ruling party, its presidential and most of its governorship candidates in the northern region.
Mama Peace, in her continuous show of hatred went to an extent of directing party faithfuls to stone opposition supporters (northerners specifically) with her insensitive and grammatical erroneous English, 'Mama Peace' went round chanting war against the north and it inhabitants all in an attempt to market her unmarketable commodity.
Below are few quotes from Dame Jonathan's very worst sayings in her masculine voice:
“Stone anyone who says ‘Change’.”
“Buhari is brain-dead.”
“We here are not like those others (Northerners) who give birth to children they can’t count or take care of, and throw them on the streets to become Almajiris (child beggars).”

Almost as a reprisal for Mama Peace's consistent attack on the north, the Northerners chose to reply her in the polls instead of engaging in a verbal war. As expected, they voted massively for the opposition just to show Mrs. Jonathan the importance of those children that were born and thrown away uncounted.
The way and manner in which the so-called ceremonial first-lady went misbehaving around testified the fact that her husband (Goodluck Jonathan) isn't in control of his own home. This impression about her husband's incapability to have control over her and his home also influenced the decision of Nigerian voters to vote him out, going by what the holy Bible said in the book of Timothy 3:5 that: "a man who cannot control his house/family should not head a church" much more of a difficult-to-govern country like Nigeria. Indeed, Dame Patience Jonathan was a monumental disgrace to her husband's political ambition and a mockery to entire womanhood. With her as a wife, surely, Jonathan needs no external enemy.

FEMI FANI-KAYODE:

The decision of the Presidential Campaign Organisation to adopt and execute a hate campaign strategy against the then presidential candidate of the APC, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari which led to the failure of PDP and President Jonathan was championed by the spokesman of the Presidential Campaign Organization Femi Fani-Kayode, the repentant critic of President Jonathan who until January 2015 was a leading opposition and critic of the present regime but all of a sudden, after a closed-door meeting with the president, FFK - as widely called - denounced his membership to the opposition party and announced his allegiance to the president whom he once referred to as "a president without balls (testicles)" in one of his article in 2014.

First and foremost, the appointment of Femi Fani-Kayode in the president’s campaign team was a major setback to Jonathan's re-election bid as many PDP members, officials and supporters were disenchanted with his appointment as a media director in the Presidential Campaign Organization and as such, several party officials who were not comfortable with Fani-Kayode’s emergence decided to sideline themselves from all the presidential campaign activities.
As soon as he took over his appointment, FFK commenced what he knows best (cheap blackmail) with his dubious tactics by alleging that "General Muhammadu Buhari has no secondary school certificate" or any record of education, this baseless issue alone played a very vital role in diverting the attention of the presidency and PDP from focusing on important issues that will help rise their support base and at the end, the whole brouhaha turns out to be a moral boasting for Gen. Buhari and the opposition.

The Jonathan's campaign team through it spokesman sunk huge sums of money into hate adverts and documentaries that ridiculed Buhari’s age, health, memory, family life, religion and military career while forgotten to showcase their paymaster's achievements in office and how he tends to achieve more if given a 2nd-chance, but FFK and his co-travelers diverted all their attention toward castigating the general and promoted ethnic/religious sentiments between the citizenry, thus making more enemies for President Jonathan than friends.
FFK's rascalities didn't only dimmed President Jonathan's popularity and support in the North but also in the international communities, Fani-Kayode and Gov Fayose's staged manage display of irresponsibility and stupidity in the UK when they hired jobless criminals to protest against General Buhari (just to make Buhari appear to the world as being hated by Nigerians) at the Chatham house where the general was invited to speak on issues affecting Nigeria. This event also did a lot of damages to Jonathan's reputation in the global arena.

The continuous cheap blackmail and hate campaign against the credibility of the people's general however backfired to the hate-mongers by infuriating numerous voters, i personally had the opportunity of interacting with several Christians and Southerners who told me they were tired of Jonathan's hate campaign against a man that's globally accepted to be honest and credible, saying they would vote Buhari just for Fani-Kayode's beer palour blackmails against the masses friendly general.

GOVERNOR AYO FAYOSE:

Via his greedy, myopic, self-centred and alcoholic thinking, the record breaking Governor of Ekiti State - who broke the record of being the first lunatic to be elected a state governor in Nigeria's political history - was one of the key players in discrediting the uncharismatic President of Nigeria all in an attempt to retain his stolen mandate. Ayo Fayose exhibited his sheer lack of morality and respect for humanity by pumping huge sums of money into media houses to air death wishes and false allegations against General Buhari, he sponsored several other hate documentaries to tarnish the general's globally accepted integrity.

Fayose further upgraded his stupidity a little bit higher when he compared the people's general with his 70 year-old mum - whom he claimed to be going on diapers due to her old age - as an example to convince voters that Buhari at 72 is too old for leadership and cannot produce any meaningful improvement. Fayose also manufactured several baseless accusations that can only be told to the marines while ignoring his own criminal records of "murder, rigging, abuse of power and stealing." In fact, Fayose left his official duties and went after Buhari's movements wherever the general goes, he began running mad with counter-productive evidences against Buhari's activities both at home and abroad and spent all Ekiti state savings just to destroy the Buhari's credibility and popularity.
Let's not forget to remember that Fayose played a vital role in organizing the all-time embarrassing display of foolishness and barbarity at the chatham house of London.
All these and more, made President Jonathan looked irresponsible for failing to call his lunatic boys to order and as such, thousands of voters developed sympathy and love for General Buhari, and decided to cast him their ballots. Indeed, with an friend like Ayo Fayose, President Jonathan surely needs no further introduction as to who the real Jonathan is.

DOCTOR DOYIN OKUPE:

Next in the series of Jonathan's inner enemies that contributed immensely to his defeat is his Senior Special Assistant on Public Affairs Dr. Doyin Okupe, whose online stupidity and irresponsibility helped galvanized an anti-Jonathan movement that spilled over to the streets of Nigeria and other countries as a whole. There is no way anybody would honestly discuss Jonathan’s defeat without mentioning the role played by Doyin Okupe.

The self-acclaimed 'bastard' - as he asked to be called if APC survived more than a year from it inception - was busy cursing critics and recruiting enemies for the president on social media platforms, while the opposition utilized the same social media to engage influential young Nigerians towards their cause.
Presidential spokesman Doyin Okupe once tweeted, that "the present regime of President Jonathan will not hand over power to Buhari and for such to happen, they rather invite the military to takeover than to give power to General Buhari," a statement that generated lots of criticism against the Jonathan administration and prompted the suspicion that President Goodluck Jonathan was perhaps planning to invite the military in a bid to scuttle Nigeria's premature democracy.

I personally met several online friends and social media activists both at home and abroad who volunteered their time, energy, resources and sacrificed their all to campaign and garner support for Buhari's candidature because they were fed up and tired of Doyin Okupe's sheer display of immorality and irresponsibility against the people's general on social/electronic media platforms.
He made several unguarded statements both online and offline that in turns led to the anger of the masses, among was this popular Facebook post of his shortly after General Buhari tremendously won an online poll conducted by the presidency itself, Okupe stated that "the entire mass of anti-Jonathan elements on social media was not significant enough to influence the real elections" which also motivated social media users to make sure they proved him wrong and that's exactly what happened on March 28.
I strongly believe the unrepentant bastard has learnt his lessons for serving individual rather than country, ignore the plea of social media users and pay the price at the polls.

In a nutshell, President Jonathan should have no other person to blame for his humiliating defeat but his woeful leadership failures and those enemies around him that he thought were his friends and love ones. Politician seeking elective position at all levels, especially those already in the corridors of power should employ credible and patriotic aides with best of reputation and self-respect to attract more supporters and admirers among the electorates. Unlike the case of President Jonathan where all his aides and close associates happens to be greedy people with little or no credibility and less reputation, thus creating more enemies for the president than friends.

President Jonathan single handily architectured and laid down a solid foundation for his own failure by sticking to some of the most satanic and uncherished individuals in Nigerian to market his political ambition, he contaminated his midst with people of acerbic tongues, whose only interest is self enrichment and immunity to cover up their criminal activities. At the end, those he trusted and stands for against all decorum were the same people that put in their very best to ensure he (Jonathan) was hated by all his supporters and created enough room for his hatters to even hate him more before and during electioneering period.

In the meantime, I believe the President and all those who wants to learn have learnt lots of lessons from the way and manner in which Jonathan's cluelessness and vested interest persuaded him to accommodate self-centered, irresponsible and unproductive political prostitutes. I also sincerely hope that the incoming president and others to come after him will take a clue from President Jonathan's poor outing and try as much as they can to elude a possible re-occurrence of Jonathan's experience in the near future.

Ten Memorable Excerpts To Remember President Jonathan After May 29, By Usama Dandare

The objectives and responsibilities of any leader apart from protecting the lives and properties of his people is to help those who are doing poorly to do well and to help those who are doing well to do even more better. Leadership has also been described as a process of social influence in which one person can enlist the aid and support of others in the accomplishment of a common goal.

A good leader on the other hand is one who goes first and lead by example, so that others will be motivated to follow. This is a basic requirement of any leader. To be a leader, one must have a deep-rooted commitment to the goals that he strives to achieve even if nobody
follows him.
Several statements by leaders are more often use as reference by their protégé and other followers; they are what make a dry subject more appealing to the audience and oftentimes used as abstract words by many speakers and authors in their speeches and books/articles. It has in recent times became habitual for people in need of solution to quote or make references to speeches and actions of their leaders, these quotes are usually words of wisdom extracted from various speeches/books made by a particular leader of interest, especially when confronted with issues during a sustain period particularly in communication.

A leader is expected to create an enabling operating environment where others can do and achieve great things with the desire to mentor and motivate them, because a leader is expected to be a mentor, and a guide to the less experience or less knowledgeable ones. To be a great leader, your actions must be seen as inspirations for others to dream more, your words should be as guide for others to learn more and do more in order to achieve some desired goals.

Of recent, the outgoing president of Nigeria, Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, has become increasingly phonetic and more acerbic at his co-travelers and other members of his People's Democratic Party (PDP) for their poor outing that led to a historic and all-time embarrassment in the March 28, 2015 presidential polls in which they were overwhelmingly humiliated by the opposition.

President Jonathan and wife are globally known for their unguarded blunders since becoming the number one-family of this great country, their entire stay in office will be remembered for their usual voodooed struggles and outrageous defense of corruption and impunity, the president in particular will be remembered for his poor decision-making and unyielding policies especially when it comes to pressing national issues. President Jonathan's media chat through which he thought was his only channel to communicate directly with the poor masses was more-or-less a stage-managed exhibition of ignorance and heinous incompetence, all his appearance during those presidential chats were not only an insult to the office of the President but an embarrassment to the much vaunted collective intelligence of Nigerians, and also a mockery to democracy and governance in general. And to my dismay, the president seriously means whatever he says during those interviews.

Below are 10 memorable quotes from President Jonathan that will keep his name fresh in our memories after May 29:

1. After the "self-rebasing" of Nigeria's economy by the National Bureau Of Statistics which saw our economy jumped a miraculous figures of 89% overnight and looking at the fact that the Nigerian masses continue to live in squalor despite being the Africa's biggest economy, many began to doubt the authenticity of Nigeria's fast growing economy and when asked, the President wasted no time in responding with his usual contradictory response. He said: “CNN has said our Economy is growing. The best Economists are at the World Bank. Now you have all these Nigerian Economists talking nonsense. Do they know better than
CNN or World Bank?”
Now if words have meaning, President Jonathan in the above statement clearly substantiate the fact that all he relied on to showcase his achievements in office are news-headlines from CNN but nothing physical to show on ground. Interestingly, the same Jonathan was furious at CNN and the world bank when the former broke the news about the deplorable state of welfare and lack of equipments facing our soldiers at war front and when the latter revealed that over 60% of Nigerians lives on less than one-dollar per day. Didn't the World Bank and CNN know better?

2. On the lackadaisical approach to combating the satanic and bloodthirsty terrorist sect of Boko Haram, President Jonathan was trying to defend the less care attitudes exhibited by his government toward the fight against terrorism in the troubled northeast, he said: “I am treading softly on Islamic terror group Boko Haram because they are our siblings. It is extremely difficult to deal with them. You cannot mobilize the whole soldiers to go and wipe out your entire family. So, it is easier to deal with foreigners than with your brothers.” Could this be why Boko Haram comfortably unleashed mayhem on the innocent people of Nigeria without retreat for about six years of Jonathan's stewardship? Having nothing to be afraid of with their dady in Aso Rock.

3. When asked about the alleged $20billion that was not remitted to the Federation account, raised by former Central Bank Governor Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, the President was more interested in discrediting the whistleblower than to investigate the thieves surrounding him. He said: “Twenty billion dollars is a lot of money. If you steal $20 billion today, America will know. It is their money. Where will you hide the money? Even Dangote that is celebrated as the richest man in Africa today can not produce such amount of money…”

4. In June of 2012, when President Jonathan was responding to a question he was asked about public declaration of his assets; he clearly showed he doesn't have it in him, the patriotism and respect for the rule of law which every president is expected not to lack but instead, he said: “The issue of public asset declaration is a matter of personal principle. That is the way I see it, and I don’t give a damn about it, even if you criticize me from heaven. I will not declare my asset."

5. When asked to comment on a World Bank's report that more than 70% of Nigerians lives in abject poverty, President Jonathan was short of words but instead, he applied his usual tactic of meaningless response. The President was quoted as saying; “I visited Kenya recently on a state visit and there was a programme for Nigerian and Kenyan business men to interact and the number of private jets that landed in Nairobi that day was a subject of discussion in Kenyan media for over a week. If you talk about ownership of private jets, Nigeria will be among the first 10 countries, yet they are saying that Nigeria is among the five poorest countries." Did Mr. President made any sense here?

6. On the most disturbing issue in Nigeria today, corruption, President Jonathan officially endorsed embezzlement of public funds and further confirmed the fact that corruption is indeed an official policy and symbol of his administration. Jonathan, a Ph.D holder and an academician was at his best in an attempt to educate Nigerians and the world at large on the differences between "stealing and corruption" and i quote: “Over 70% of what are called corruption (cases) today, even by EFCC (Economic and Financial Crimes Commission) and other anti-corruption agencies, are not corruption but common stealing. Stealing is not the same thing as corruption. If you put yam and plantain where a goat is, you can't stop that goat from eating the yam.” Here, Mr. President was trying to legalize corruption and at same time, tell the world that his goats (his cabinet members and associates) cannot be prevented from eating plantain and yam (public funds).

7. In furtherance of his outrageous defense of corruption (sorry, stealing) and his continuous opposition to the rule of law. President Jonathan while attempting to blackmail the people's general, President-elect Muhammadu Buhari, at an Enugu campaign rally in January, he was quoted as saying: How much did Jim Nwobodo steal? He only stole a small amount of money not up to the price of Peugeot car, yet BUHARI jailed him. Is that fair enough?" and the hired crowd pitifully screamed NOOO!!!. For President Jonathan's information, Jim Nwobodo stole $5.1m from the taxpayers hard-earned money in 1984 and if i am not mistaken, $5.1m as of 1984 were enough to buy a brand new helicopter or a tukumbo jet not to talk of a Peugeot car.

8. During an interactive session with Nigerians in Turkey before the 2011 general elections, President Jonathan said: "If i’m voted into power within the next four years, the issue of power will become a thing of the past. Four years is enough for anyone in power to make significant improvement and if I can’t improve on power within this period, it then means I cannot do anything even if I am there for the next four years.” Here we are, six years (not four) with Jonathan as President and I am sorry to say; not only did Jonathan failed to make any improvement in power supply but the 4,750megawatts of electricity he inherited in our national grid have reduced to a well embarrassing figures between 1,600-2,300megawatts.

9. In his sympathy message shortly after the attack on Government Comprehensive Senior Science Secondary School in Potiskum of Yobe state, which claimed the lives of no fewer than 50 school boys and hundreds sustained various degree of injuries when a suicide bomber disguised in school uniform detonated a bomb at the assembly ground while students were waiting to hear the principal's daily address at exactly 7:50am, President Jonathan said: “I assures the grieving parents and people of Yobe state that no matter how long it takes, the Federal Government will ensure that all the suicide bombers that are responsible for the senseless murder of so many promising youngsters across the country are brought to justice and made to pay for their atrocious crimes." If not lacking words to cover up his insensitivity and to pretend he's putting serious efforts to securing the lives of the citizenry, how on earth would President Jonathan promise to bring a suicide bomber who has already killed himself to justice?

10. On August 31, 2012, during a Town Hall Meeting held in the commercial city of Onitsha as part of activities marking President Jonathan's one-day visit to Anambra State, the issue of Second Niger Bridge came up during the Town Hall Meeting since Jonathan had during his campaigns for the 2011 general elections promised to construct the bridge if elected President, and the don has this to say: "When the first bridge was built, it was during the presidency of Nnamdi Azikiwe; the second Niger bridge will be built under the presidency of Azikiwe Jonathan.” "I will go on exile on the completion of my term in office if I didn't build the bridge before 2015." After four years of deceptive and empty promise and with only 12 days left to the end of Jonathan's stay in office, neither did he (President Jonathan) built the Second Niger Bridge nor did he went on exile as promised, except some three months ago when the president was seen inspecting the "Second Niger Bridge map" during his campaign trip to Anambra State, indicating that not a single block has been erected from the ground.

From the quotes above, you will agree with me that Nigerians spent the last six years in “one chance” under the watch of an incompetent president who always displays sheer arrogance and cattiness wherever he goes to represent Nigeria.

Note: all quotes in this piece were extracted directly from live interviews and speeches by President Jonathan, though some were paraphrased but if in doubt, you can easily verify them yourself easily by doing a google search.

Coronach To My Late Prima Donna: In Memory Of Umar Musa Yar'Adua, By Usama Dandare

"Frankly speaking, one thing, one legacy I would want to be remembered most for and I know it is very difficult to achieve, but that I am determined to achieve it is the establishment of respect for the rule of law." ~ Umar Musa Yar'Adua (President of Nigeria May 2007-May 2010)

Last week Tuesday of May 5, 2015, marks exactly 1,825 days, precisely five years since the demise of President Umar Musa Yar'Adua who was lost to the cold black hands of death on May 5, 2010 at the age of 58, due to a Chronic Renal Disease (CRD) combined with Pericarditis (an inflammation of the fibrous sac surrounding the heart). He died in Aso-Rock presidential villa, just days after his return from the Kingdom of Saudi-Arabia where he was hospitalized for several months.

Late Yar'Adua was born into an aristocratic Fulani family in Katsina state; he's a son to a former Minister during the First republic and held the royal title of "Mutawallen Katsina" (custodian of the treasury) of the Katsina Emirate). Yar'Adua started his education at Rafukka Primary School in 1958, and moved to Dutsen-ma Boarding Primary School in 1962. He attended Government College Keffi in Nasarawa state from 1965 until 1969. In 1971 he received a higher School Certificate from the prestigious Barewa College Zaria (a famous school that produced five Heads Of States/Presidents of Nigeria and almost all successful Nigerians especially those of northern background passed through the college). The young Yar'Adua then moved to Ahmadu Bello University also in Zaria from 1972 to 1975, he obtained a B.Sc degree in Education and Chemistry. He again returned to the same Ahmadu Bello University in 1978 and obtained a masters degree in Analytical Chemistry.

Yar'Adua pursued a successful working career from several governmental to non-governmental organizations, he held several positions both in public and private service. He taught in various academias; he was a lecturer at Katsina College of Arts, Science and Technology, Zaria between 1976 and 1979. He moved to Katsina Polytechnic also as a Lecturer in 1979 and was there until 1983 when he left the public service and moved into politics during the third republic. In 1999, he was elected Governor of Katsina state under the platform of People's Democratic Party (PDP) and ruled for eight years, after which he contested in the April 2007 presidential election, he won the hearts of Nigerians with his self-esteem and was elected President of the federal republic and took the oath of office on May 29, 2007. Following his presidential victory, Yar'Adua became the first Nigerian president with a bachelor and masters degree.

Today, I am idolizing the life and achievements of an honest and a committed democrat; a God-fearing leader and a great patriot who believed in justice and did all within his power to move Nigeria to where it ought to be, and a selfless servant of God and humanity.

President Umar Yar'Adua was widely known for his campaign slogan: "forward ever backward never", his zeal to move Nigeria forward led him to govern with integrity and tenacity. He started his administration by reducing fuel prices to ease the suffering of the masses and established various reform programs that impacted positively on the life of the common-man. There was never a time when any Nigerian President pursued the nation's interest ahead of self-interest like Yar'Adua, he took several courageous decisions; including the creation of the Niger Delta ministry for which the people of the south-south remain eternally grateful, and ending the long lingering security threats experienced in that region by granting amnesty to militias which brought an end to bloodshed and oil bunkering in the oil-rich south-south.

Albeit a product of a corrupt and an unfair election process that was grotesque by numerous irregularities, Yar'Adua was able to convinced everyone and left nobody in doubt that he's indeed the right man for the crown, he proved to the whole world that he'd more than the qualities required to take Nigeria and Nigerians to the moon, with his great contributions to the sustainability of peace and democracy in the country and most importantly, the unity of the nation and beyond. He left behind credible memories that serves as inspirations for many generations to follow. We lost an honest leader that meant well for all Nigerians, his record of prudence and administrative excellence both as a State Governor and President will forever remain green in our memories. He demonstrated great statesmanship, which helped to re-focus our dear nation, and among his legacies; was the imperative of electoral reform, over which he took significant and perfect measures in setting up the Justice Mohammed Uwais Panel, a reform that is now shaping our country's democracy and beyond.

His set goals; the "Seven-Point Agenda" highlighted the zeal in him for a greater and a more peaceful Nigeria, he worked tremendously and tirelessly to achieve these set goals before leaving office, and during the short period he breathed as president, he brought several goodwills to Nigeria both socially and economically. He has good plan for Nigeria's progress but unfortunately, his health factor obviated him from achieving what he connoted to achieve.
He'd wanted to replicate the brobdingnagian anabasis he put in place when he's the governor of Katsina state but sorrowfully, "Azrael" (the unfriendly angel of death) came knocking and helplessly took away his soul at a very critical moment in our national development when Nigeria needed him the most but nevertheless, God needed him more than we do and that was why He took him away from us. It is heartbroken that he is gone and as humans, we can't help or do otherwise rather than to wish him a peaceful and blissful eternal rest in the acre of God and a joyful life in the city of the dead.

Nigeria and Nigerians have missed a kind gentleman who's committed to the ideals of sustainable democracy, rule of law, accountability and nation building. We have indeed lost a committed leader who is a mentor and role model to several Nigeria's upcoming generation, a leader who was ready to reform all sectors of the economy for the betterment of the life of the common man.

Finally, let's not forget that the only gift you can give to the dead is prayer and nothing more, you pray for the soul of the dead whenever you think of them or something reminds you of them, this is indeed the biggest gift to the dead not praise-singing. I hope this piece remind you that late President Umar Musa Yar'Adua is resting down underneath the ground and he's begging for blessings? If yes, then the only way to show him love and appreciation for his selfless service to our nation is to pay him back with prayers and that's exactly what I set to do.
Please repeat after me: "O God! The God of Muhammad (PBUH) and the God of Jesus Christ (PBUH), Our former President 'Umar Musa Yar'Adua' is under Your care and protection, protect him, forgive him and have mercy upon him, excuse him and pardon him, and make honorable his reception. Expand his entry, and cleanse him with water, snow, and ice, and purify him of sin as a white robe is purified of filth. Exchange his home for a better home, and his family for a better family, and his spouse for a better spouse. Admit him into the garden of Paradise, protect him from the punishment of the grave and the torment of the hell-fire. Forgive and have mercy upon him, surely You are The Oft-Forgiving and The Most-Merciful." let me hear you say "AMEN"!

The Fall Of Kingdom Jonathania And The End Of King Jango, By Usama Dandare

Once upon a time there was a kingdom, a naturally wealthy land which is one-third larger than Texas and the most populous black empire in the world. Situated on the Gulf of Guinea in the Western region of Africa and one among the world's richest nation. The kingdom came into being on October 1, 1960, having gained independence from the English colonial masters and became a member of the Commonwealth of Nations. Welcome to the Kingdom of AIREGIN.

Since independence, Airegin has experienced omnifarious forms of leadership until May 29, 2007 when a wise leader, King Ramu, who intends to move the kingdom in the right direction was sworn in, his lifetime was threatened by illness and a pretty queen who was his wife, ruled the land instead of him for more than two years of his reign. To the detriment of the masses, king Ramu died on May 5, 2010 after years of battling with his health. Shortly after his demise, his deputy, Emperor Jango was sworn in as the new king.

Jango was a gentleman right from his days as a deputy premier, to his premiership days and upto the time he became the deputy to the late king Ramu, throughout these times, he was known to be loyal and very obedient to his superiors. He was brought up in an entirely different setup with his predecessors, he was born into a family of a canoe-maker and his parents were extremely poor and while as a kid; he had no shoes, no school bag and carried his books in his hands to school. His poor parental background gave the masses higher expectations of a better life thinking a regime led by a poor son will have more care and sympathy to other poor citizens. All he came into power with was an old masculine-voice woman he called his wife, his partially blind mum, his pretty little daughter and a boy who looked like him, and some few servants willing to do whatever he wanted. He took his late boss's place and reigned the kingdom.

However, his regime was nothing to write home about and his dominion was far from good, he imposed heavy fuel prices on the kingdom despite being among the top exporters of crude. His regime was characterized by corruption, impunity, indiscipline, bloodshed, rascalities, irresponsibility, fiascos, immorality and he purged everyone who attempts to blow the whistle.
Gradually, people renamed the land "kingdom Jonathania" having turned the kingdom's wealth into his personal belongings and that of his family, they pushed both hands into the taxpayers account at will and pullout whatever amount they so wished as if the kingdom's wealth belongs to their family businesses and nobody has the right to say a word.

Things began moving from bad to worst, everyone lost serenity in his style of governance and the few giving him benefit of doubt were left seethed with rage, he transformed the once peaceful kingdom into a land of hatred, ethnic bigotry and religious crisis by nurturing a killer ethno-religious division. And in no-time, kingdom Jonathania became a land of the living dead. Due to Jango's incompetence, insincerity and weak leadership, the once richest and most promising land in the late 1960s and early 1970s was devalorized to among the 20 kingdoms in the world with the widest gap between the rich and the poor, Airegin gradually began to declined in fortunes in all developmental indexes.

As one among the top 10 crude oil producers in the world, Kingdom Jonathania continued to fare very poorly in all developmental ratings and the kingdom failed in all aspect of human and social endeavour, he failed to provide the necessary services required to improve the livelihood of the citizenry. As a result of massive corruption and lawlessness under Jango's watch, unity was scarce even among family members and wanton killing of innocent people became a daily routine as life was valueless and didn't worth a pity.

King Jango continues to terrorize and oppress the masses with his people-unfriendly policies, he deprived the people of their right and privileges, he birthed artificial poverty in a wealthy land destined for all to be happy while allowing some few associates of his to be stealing the land dry; There was this beautiful lady he appointed to spearhead the kingdom's crude oil business, she however used her beauty over the kingdom and went away with billions of dollars, she became powerfully rich to an extent of owning private jets and mansions overseas while the masses were living in squalor. Another beauty queen and a certificate forger was also appointed to watch over the kingdom's air transport system, she also carted away with billions of dollars from the taxpayers hard-earned wealth.

On her part, his masculine-voice wife kept on misbehaving in public and insulting whoever she so wishes to insult, she does whatever she thought of doing without any recourse to the laws of the land. She looted the kingdom's wealth at will and have no respect for elders nor constituted authorities, she went to an extent of assigning official portfolios to herself and operating her own independent government akin to a de facto president. In point of fact, her arduous bravura of immorality and adipose irresponsibility beget the "impression that her husband (king Jango) was not in control of his home." (apologies to Reuben Abati)
This was how king Jango continued to reign terror on the peace loving and hospital people of Airegin by appointing corrupt and greedy people into his cabinet, they kept on looting the kingdom's treasury and the king failed to caution or deal with anyone among them, everything about the empire was so deteriorating across all strata and he (King Jango) looked unruffled and never wanted to change. In a nutshell, kingdom Airegin or Jonathania as renamed was totally ruined by the evil king, nearly reaching a state of comatose.
As emperor Jango's power drunkenness began getting out of hand, the masses abruptly rose in rebellion against the evil king, they were led by "an incorruptible military general" and "a well trained pastor and at same time a professor of law". Having betrayed and failed his Godfather, the anger of king Jango's Godfather and that of the masses covered the entire kingdom and together with the help of an "anti-manipulation device (card reader)", the masses defeated king Jango's troops and vanquished his satanic and malevolent regime, thus ending six years of Jango's reign of terror and impunity on the people and land of Airegin.

Well, King Jango will go down the memory lane as one of the most incompetent and the most weakest president in the history of Airegin kingdom and his regime must be remembered as one of the most corrupt and visionless regime in the kingdom's governmental history. In short, the level of incompetence and unprofessionalism exhibited while Jango was in power and his less care attitudes in governing Airegin was termed by several schoolers as the 8th wonder of the world. There was none like him.

This extraordinary and unfortunate antiquity of king Jango and his devilish regime provides an indispensable backdrop for the collapse of "Kingdom Jonathania" as well as "King Jango" in particular. Obviously, the rise of a new peaceful and an adorable Kingdom of Airegin is now on the verge with the advent of a talented, credible and promising government ready to be sworn-in come May 29, 2015.
