Social Movement For Change Wish You A Hitch Free Ramadan.

 28/06/2014

Reports reaching us has it that the new Islamic moon for the month of Ramadan has been sighted, which automatically placed today Saturday 28th-June, 2014 to be 1st day of Ramadan on the Islamic calendar and the beginning of Ramadan fasting.

Today, Muslims in Nigeria are expected to embark on a 30days fasting to fulfill one of the requirements in the five pillars of Islam and Muslims are also charged to abstain from all kinds of violence, lying, cheating and all other prohibited acts during the period of the holy month Ramadan.

Social Movement for Change is calling on the so-called agents of terrorism hiding under the shed of Islam to follow the teachings of Islam and embrace peace during this holy month and to desist from further bloodshed and escalation of violence as it goes contrary to the tutelages of Almighty Allah and his messengers.

We also call on Islamic preachers to use the month of Ramadan in preaching peace and religious tolerance among Nigerians. Islam mandated clerics to focus their teachings on the current situations affecting the society within, SMC therefore urged clerics to focus more on enlightening Nigerians on the life, religious tolerance and peaceful coexistence between Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W) and the contemporary idolators of his time for the sustenance of a long lasting in Nigeria.

SMC urge Nigerian Muslims to use this period in seeking divine interventions to our dear country and to pray for peace and unity in our nation, we also challenge Muslims to emulate the exemplary peace loving attitudes of Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W) and live in peace with all irrespective of tribe, faith and region, as that will only make us to witness more Ramadans in peace.

On this note, on behalf of all of us here at Social Movement for Change, we are wishing our esteem readers, Nigerians and the entire Muslims ummah a hitch free Ramadan fast and may the Almighty God in his infinite mercy, accept all our prayers and bring peace/unity to our nation as a whole. May we live together to witness more and more Ramadans in peace and harmony.

SMC wish to re-affirm it commitments to building a peaceful and united Nigeria where religious, ethnic, cultural, regional and political differences will not matter to our existence or hinders our developments.

God Bless Nigeria.
God Bless SMC.

Respect To Emab Victims.

 26/06/2014

Social Movement for Change (SMC) condemned in the strongest terms the unfortunate incident of bomb blast on Emab plaza in FCT Abuja and the market bombing in Adamawa state where several innocent Nigerians were roasted alive while going about their normal duties trying to meet earns.

It is very unfortunate we found our beloved country under a serious challenge of insecurity whereby few scrupulous elements are undermining our nation's existence by unleashing terror on the peace loving masses of Nigeria and destroying properties worth billions and still counting.

Today's bombings in Abuja and Adamawa state signified yet another danger and conspiracy toward the Nigerian state, it also displayed the high level of insensitivity from concern authorities toward the fight against terrorism. It is devilish and a crime to kill an innocent soul without any valid reason and a punishable act prohibited by both religions.

This is a declaration of war by the so-called terrorists against Nigeria and Nigerians, the blood thirsty devils are out and all out against Nigeria and her existence as one entity and until we set aside our differences and come together to fight our common enemies, then we can make terrorism a thing of history in our land.

Social Movement for Change (SMC) call on the Federal Government and all relevant authorities concern to as a matter of urgency thoroughly investigate the incident that led to the death of Innocent Nigerians and bring the perpetrators evil to book, Government must guarantee enough security for it citizen's lives and properties.

We can no longer be living in a semi-hell where terrorists operates in a free reign, it can't be tolerated anymore and we would no longer accept a society where our lives exist at owner's risk. Government must do all it can to police the nation and defend the sovereignty of our country. Terrorism is not part of us and will never be, we all have to make sacrifices to save Nigeria (our only symbol of identity and pride) from the burden of our enemies.

Finally, On behalf of all of us here at Social Movement for Change (SMC), we wish to register our condolences to the families of all the victims consumed in the unfortunate bombing of Wednesday 25/06/2014 at Emab plaza in Abuja and the market bombing in adamawa state, may they find the fortitude to bear the lost. We also pray that God in his infinite mercy, will grant favours to those that lost their lives in this inhumanly act and may their souls lie peacefully in eternal rest.

Social Movement for Change re-affirm it commitments to the fight for a greater Nigeria where impunity, corruption, sentiments, ethnic and religious differences will have no room but to varnish, we also called on Nigerians to live in peace, let's uphold that culture of being our brother's keepers and love one another, and above all be very vigilant and report any suspicious movement around your neighborhood.
God bless Nigeria.

PRESS RELEASE

 20/06/2014

Social Movement for Change (SMC) condemned in strongest terms the ambushing and unlawful detention of Governor Rotimi Ameachi of Rivers State by men of the Nigerian Army at Odudu in Ondo state on Thursday 19 June, 2014.

The assault on Governor Ameachi by Soldiers of the Nigerian Army on his way to Ado-Ekiti from Ondo State after a plane conveying him was grounded at the Akure Airport, by a military Captain and his team who said to be citing on orders from above was by far not a welcome development and never an achievement to our existence as a democratic Nation.

It is unhealthy for Nigeria and a new dimension in the desperation of some mischievous elements to destroy our democracy, it is a barbaric commodore style of leadership aimed at incapacitating the opposition in a "do or die" affair which will never birth anything worth saying for our nation.

This is the biggest threat to our nation's democracy and should be rejected by all Nigerians irrespective of their political views as long as they are lovers of Nigeria and Nigeria's progress.

Social Movement for Change (SMC) therefore wish to join all well-meaning people across the world to condemn in very strongest terms, this lawlessness and infringement on the freedom of movement and association of Nigerian citizens. SMC also wish to categorically state that, the people of Rivers and Nigerians should hold the Federal Government and its agents responsible should anything happens to the life or properties of Governor Rotimi Ameachi.

We also wish to draw the attention of all Nigerians and the international community to the growing impunity and recklessness of the Federal Government, these ugly practice stand as a major threat to our national unity and we all have a responsibility to defend our country. Therefore, SMC charged all Nigerians not to allow the inordinate ambition of a few people to plunge the entire country into a disastrous crisis.

Finally, Social Movement for Change wish to re-affirm it commitments to the fight for a greater Nigeria where impunity and political intolerance will have no room in our society, we also called on Nigerians to live in peace, let's uphold that culture of being our brother's keepers and love one another.
God bless Nigeria.

Presidency: Stop witch-Hunting HRH Sanusi Lamido Sanusi.

13/06/2014

Having received credible informations from reliable sources, that some scrupulous elements have mobilized and paid huge sum of money to several jobless youths in the city of Kano to massively protest on Friday 13th-June 2014, against the personality of His Royal Highness Sanusi Lamido Sanusi and the Kano state government.

The protest is aimed at creating havoc that will result into violence and clashes which may in turns lead to destruction of properties and even lost of lives, while the security agencies are ordered not to interfere in halting the situations which can give birth to an avenue in which the Federal Government can declare a state of emergency in the State.

After the declaration of a state of emergency rule, Governor Rabiu Kwankwaso will be remove and a military sole administrator will be appointed to govern the state, first of the agenda is to dethrone the new Emir of Kano HRH Sanusi Lamido Sanusi.

Based on this and many other more, the Social Movement for Change (SMC) condemned in strong terms, this devilish plan of birthing violence that will shed the blood of innocent citizens and consume uncountable lives just to accomplish or protect oneself selfish political desires.

On this gesture, Social Movement for Change wish to join other well-meaning Nigerians in pleading with the peace loving people of Kano state to abstain from involving in any form of violence and maintain the long existing peace the state is known for, and desist from been use as thugs to preach violence by some few corrupt politicians.

Social Movement for Change also appeal to the Federal Government especially the presidency to stop witch-hunting the new Emir of Kano concurrently as it will only give birth to the unwanted, for nothing fruitful will come out from it.

We pray that the everlasting living God will bring peace and unity to our dear nation, and continue to protect the lives of the poor. Those involved in instigating violence that will cause harm to the innocent poor citizens will face the wrath of Almighty God, sooner or later but they won't escape paying for the nemesis of their unholy actions.

God bless Nigeria.
God bless Nigerians.
God bless SMC.
