Nigeria's Population Hits 170 Million

The population of Nigeria is now 170 million, according to a computer-based application called 'Population Clock'.
The application calculates the world's population and those of individual countries on a second-by-second basis, using base data from the UN and other variables from previous censuses, birth rates, death rates, etc, of every country.
The application shows that Nigeria's population hit the 170 million mark late on Monday, April 1st, 2013. As at the time of filing this report (11.35am), Nigeria's population is at 170, 005, 071; while the population of the world is put at 7.1 billion.
According to the 'Population Clock', Nigeria's population will reach 181 million by 2015; 207 million by the year 2020; and 304 million, by 2035.
